Event: The 43rd WV Italian Heritage Festival
Main Street Clarksburg, WV
The West Virginia Italian Heritage Festival originated in 1979 as a celebration of Italian American heritage. Since its first year, the festival saw success and continues to gain popularity. The festival draws crowds in upwards of 100,000 visitors. Clarksburg closes off street blocks where the festival takes place for the entire weekend. The atmosphere is full of entertainment, music and fun festivities. Come hungry because there is plenty of good American-Italian foods and beverages. Opening ceremonies include the Royal Court of Regina Maria crowning. Special tributes are paid to outstanding Americans including the Outstanding West Virginia Italian-American Award and the Honorary Italian American Award.
